The Zotrim Way - Frequently Asked Questions
I am following the Zotrim diet (from 'The Zotrim Way') to the letter but haven't lost any weight.
Are you sure that you have reduced High Fat foods, increased High Carb foods and increased physical activity? If the answer is 'yes' then portion sizes need to be cut down. It is a scientific fact that less calories in plus more calories out lead to weight loss. If weight loss is not happening, there are two choices: (a) reduce further the calories in by cutting portion sizes or, (b) increasing the calories out by being more active.
Could I have a slow metabolism as I am not losing weight?
A small proportion of people find weight loss difficult because of an under-active thyroid. If you are worried about this aspect of your health, I recommend consulting your GP. However, the majority of overweight people actually have a faster metabolism than lean people. This is because it takes extra energy to move a larger body about. Take advantage of this by increasing your physical activity. Overweight people can gain huge benefits from taking regular exercise such as a reduction in the risks of developing heart disease and diabetes.
Are all High Fat foods banned from this diet?
No. What I am suggesting is for you to reduce the amount of High Fat foods that you eat. It is still possible to eat a few portions of High Fat foods each week as long as this is not preventing weight loss. As soon as weight loss tails off, it is time to look again at the amount of High Fat foods you are eating.
